The "Izdüşüm" Painting Exhibition organized by the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University met with art lovers on May 13, 2025 at the Painter Mehmet Yücetürk Art Gallery.

The opening was attended by Bolu Deputy Governor Hakkı Uzun, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Aydın Him, academicians, students and art lovers. The faculty member responsible for the exhibition held within the scope of the Painting Department activities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melek Akyürek, explained the conceptual background of the exhibition in her speech at the opening. "This exhibition does not show finished works; it also shows those that have resisted completion," she said, emphasizing that art is not only a result-oriented but also a process-oriented form of creation. Stating that the name "Izdüşüm" reflects the essence of the exhibition, Akyürek said, "It is like something reflected on another surface. But the reflections we see here are not traces of light—they are traces of thought. Each work bears traces of an inner journey made towards the outside." He emphasized that the works in the exhibition are not only completed works, but also traces of the intellectual processes that occurred in the artist's mind and perhaps did not reach a complete conclusion.

After the opening speech, Deputy Governor Hakkı Uzun presented a certificate of appreciation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melek Akyürek for her efforts and contributions that made the exhibition possible.

The "Izdüşüm" Painting Exhibition will be open to art lovers at the BAİBÜ GSF Painter Mehmet Yücetürk Art Gallery until May 18, 2025.
